CRA Remittance Deadlines (Monthly and Quarterly)

By True North Payroll · January 9, 2026 · Practical guide for Canadian small teams

Remittance deadlines are one of the most common sources of payroll penalties. This guide summarizes the CRA’s standard due dates for regular (monthly) and quarterly remitters.

Regular (monthly) remitters

Due date: the 15th day of the month following the month you paid your employees.

  • Example: payroll in January → remit by February 15
Quarterly remitters (qualifying small/new employers)

Due dates: April 15, July 15, October 15, and January 15.

  • Example: Q1 (Jan–Mar) → remit by April 15
Accelerated remitters

If your withholdings are larger, CRA can assign accelerated schedules with more frequent due dates. Always check your CRA remitter type annually.
